This position is responsible for facilitating learning, planning and implementing an appropriate instructional program, and providing artistic direction for extra-curricular arts activities for Art, Music, Drama and/or PE.
Anticipated Start Date: August 2025
Starting Salary: $47,500
RESPONSIBILITES
Classroom Management
- Create, monitor, and sustain a disciplined school culture of high academic and behavioral standards.
- Provide structure in the classroom by developing and reinforcing school-wide rules and expectations.
- Ensure smooth operation of all classroom instructional functions without excuses or exceptions.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect learners, materials, equipment and facilities.
- Maintaining a classroom environment conducive to effective learning during class sessions and after school rehearsals.
- Supervising learners during non-instructional times in the day as assigned, including duty before school, during school, during intermission periods, and during extra-curricular arts activities.
Delivery of Instruction
- Planning and implementing instruction on topics including but not limited to PE, Art, acting techniques, theatre terminology, vocal technique, and fundamentals of musical theatre.
- Administering and scoring appropriate assessments designed to measure and document learner progress and growth.
- Communicating accurate knowledge of subject matter using language and style appropriate to the learner.
Communication
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative and professional relationships with other employees.
- Establishing and maintaining open lines of communication with learners and their families concerning academic and behavioral progress as well as information related to participation in extracurricular programs.
Other Professional Responsibilities
- Directing and coordinating learner participation in arts events including but not limited to Winter Festival and the campus musical.
- Maintaining attendance, behavioral, and grading records.
- Coordinating learner participation and supervision at all extra-curricular arts activities and performances.
- Performing other responsibilities, as assigned.
- Occasionally working evenings and weekends based on the production schedule.

Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS
- All Instructional and Non-instructional employees must be fingerprinted and cleared per Florida statute 1012.465 and 1012.56.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Applicants must have a valid FLDOE teaching certificate or current Statement of Eligibility issued by the FLDOE in the teaching field. Recent college graduates may apply without having either document, but will be required to apply for initial certification prior to being offered a position.
- Must have a background in the ARTS.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- At least 1 year experience teaching in a classroom environment
