Anticipated Start Date: August 2025
Starting Salary: $47,500 $2,500 Shortage Area Bonus
Additional Compensation: Eligible for referendum supplement, starting at $2,500, based on years of experience as a certified teacher
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties of this position include but are not limited to:
Instructional Practice
- Assume personal responsibility for the academic progress of all learners.
- Implement a coherent, research-based curriculum based upon Florida standards and Core Knowledge content sequence that is documented with curriculum maps, unit plans, and daily lesson plans.
- Document all syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, rubrics, and other instructional materials and methods.
- Use consistent school-wide practices and individualized methods to engage learners in the classroom.
- Provide varied instructional techniques and opportunities through technology, individual practice and/or guided groups designed to meet the educational, social, and emotional needs of learners.
Classroom Management
- Create, monitor, and sustain a disciplined school culture of high academic and behavioral standards.
- Provide structure in the classroom by developing and reinforcing school-wide rules and expectations.
- Ensure smooth operation of all classroom instructional functions without excuses or exceptions.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect learners, materials, equipment and facilities.
Data Analysis
- Develop and use a variety of assessment data to refine curricula and instructional practice.
- Evaluate academic achievement through detailed data analysis of learner performance.
- Collaborate vertically and horizontally with teaching teams across campuses to ensure learner success across content areas and grade levels.
Learner Support and School Culture
- Communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships with learners, families, and staff.
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to cultivate character driven citizenship, high expectations and a culture of learning for all: staff, learners, and families.
- Successfully integrate technology throughout the curriculum, instruction, and assessment environments.
- Uphold a professional demeanor, strong work-ethic, detail-driven work style with excellent organizational skills.
- Retain a commitment to getting the job done well, no matter what the obstacles or how long it takes.
- Dedicated to learner success and to building relationships through activities outside of the normal work day such as arts productions, after school clubs, and school-wide events.

Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- All employees must be fingerprinted and pass a background screening process by the District School Board of Pasco County, per Florida statute 1012.465 and 1012.56.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Applicants must have a valid FLDOE teaching certificate or current Statement of Eligibility issued by FLDOE in the teaching field. Recent college graduates may apply without having either document, but will be required to apply for initial certification prior to being offered a position.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate work beyond the bachelor's degree
- Classroom teaching experience
- Demonstrates a results-driven track record with experience in, and commitment to, standards-based curriculum and the use of data and assessments to drive instructional decisions
- Demonstrates quantifiable and objective student performance gains that surpass local averages
- Demonstrates experience as a successful manager of creative and innovative classrooms who have used discipline, structure, appropriate incentives, and high expectations to achieve measurable academic and civic success
