Aspire Coordinator

General Description: The Aspire Coordinator will report to the Aspire Supervisor. The Aspire Coordinator will assist in providing high-quality, basic educational services to empower students in acquiring skills for success in postsecondary education/training and employment, to earn a living wage, and to be contributing members of society. This position will perform in a manner to ensure the best possible education for students of the Miami Valley Career Technology Center.

Qualifications:

• Must meet all requirements governing teacher education and licensure
• Must hold or qualify for certification in the instructional program
• Must possess an interest in preparing adults for a High School Equivalency, employment or post-secondary enrollment
• Possess in-depth knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment. An understanding of program budgeting is preferred.
• Ability to plan and implement lessons based on program and school objectives
• Ability to move about in the classroom/lab to check student work and monitor behavior
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with teachers, students, and peers
• The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Possess excellent human relations skills and serve as a role model for teachers and students
• Ability to make off-school visits to monitor satellite Aspire locations or confer with outside agencies as required
• Ability to work with business and professional groups, organizations, as appropriate

Length of Contract: 185 days and any applicable extended service days

Salary: Per teacher salary schedule
