QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or its equivalency.
- Must meet No Child Left Behind standards (i.e., Associate Degree from an accredited institution of higher education or completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (defined as 48 semester or 72 quarter hours as verified by college transcript from an accredited institution of higher education), or meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment – knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and mathematics or knowledge of, and the ability to assist in readiness for reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Willingness to assist with the requirements of special needs students/children.
- Possess a positive attitude toward special needs students/children.
- Physical capability of safely and appropriately lifting and managing preschool and special needs children when necessary.
- Demonstrate proficiency of English; both oral and written.
- Ability to cope with stressful situations as related to special needs children.
- Demonstrate computer/data-processing skills.
- Must provide Ohio Department of Education Medical Statement certifying that employee is free from communicable diseases and physically fit to care for young children.
