STEM/Career Connections Instructor (MS/HS)
General Description: The STEM/Career Connections Instructor will be assigned to Valley View Local Schools to provide instructional activities which are consistent with the objectives of the Engineering and Design Pathway, and the MVCTC in general. The instructor will direct the learning experiences of the students, including basic engineering design and hydraulics and pneumatics, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) along with enhancing critical-thinking and leadership qualities which are necessary as they progress in their academic program. The STEM/Career Connections Instructor will report to the Satellite Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Must meet all the requirements governing teacher education and licensure in an area licensed to teach the course, attend summer 2024 trainings after accepting an offer of employment from the District, and attend other required trainings in future summers (there are multiple valid licenses to teach the course including, but not limited to: 7-12 Math, 7-12 Science, Agriscience, Electrical Trades, and Technology Education)
- Must be willing to attend/participate in content/certification specific training
- Must possess interest in young people
- Possess good knowledge of basic STEM concepts and of the content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of the instructional specialty to which assigned
- Ability to plan and implement lessons based on program and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned
- Must have the ability to integrate instructional technology
- Ability to move about in classroom/lab to check student work and monitor behavior
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Possess excellent human relations skills and serve as a role model for students
Length of Contract: 185 days and applicable extended service days
Starting Date: 2025-26 school year
Salary: $54,960 to $114,317
