Medical Center Representatives
We are looking to fill a full time position in the front office, for check-in and check-out primarily located at our Centerville location. Full time being 40 hours per week Monday-Friday and the shift we are looking to fill is 8a-4:30p. These hours could vary depending on the office needs.
Basic Function
Responsible for greeting incoming patients and visitors, scheduling appointments, processing medical records and performing various clerical duties in a professional manner. Has access to patient’s charts to perform job functions listed below.
The primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the ability to open and/or close the office according to office procedure, maintain waiting room cleanliness, monitor office, maintain proper work functions of the postage machine, able to process certified mail, packages/package distribution- accepts all packages, scan/ barcodes documents into EMR, mail out MRI discs and processes new referrals as needed, confirms and checks accuracy of appointments with proper documentation: type, date, time, and location, able to complete job functions for both patient check ins/check outs, collects co-pays, balances, bill payments and reconciles payments collected, understands insurances and their respective policies regarding DCND and is able to update insurance packages as needed, able to register new patients and updates demographic information at each visit, collects and ensures completion of all documents needed to treat/speak to patients/caregivers/providers prior at check in, completes daily tasks: bin assignments, ticklers, waitlist, workflow dashboard, after hours phone line and no shows, understands all aspects of medical records and can cover if needed, able to explain after-visit care: testing, outside referrals, facility information, prior authorization process, understands general DCND testing and facility information, schedules DCND appointments and testing at TOS prior to patients leaving the office.
Skills required for this position include multi- task skills, extremely organized and efficient with time, able to handle frequent distractions/stressful situation/change, can work independently and as a team in a professional manner, works well with the public, computer proficient with Basic Word, Excel, and Email, used to working with Electronic charts, knowledgeable of the medical field/HIPAA/OSHA Laws.
PAY SCALE: The pay range for this position is $15/hr - $22.50/hr. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state.
