Under the direction of the Manager of Behavioral Health Day Treatment, the Behavioral Health Supervisor is responsible for direct patient care as well as clinical and administrative support of the Behavioral Health Team. Clinically, the supervisor provides intensive behavioral health services including diagnostic assessments, individual, group and family-based psychotherapy, and crisis intervention as needed. Responsible for collaborating with patients and families in developing an individualized treatment plan that will specifically address identified areas of concern. Responsible for assisting patients and their families in understanding ways to effectively manage symptoms and behaviors attributed to the identified behavioral health diagnosis (es). Assists families in effectively addressing complex personal and environmental difficulties which interfere with effective social functioning. Responsible for the delivery of clinical services which are available to the patient, the patient’s family, and other persons significant to the patient, can work independently, are well organized and directed, and identifies opportunities to work collaboratively with other units/departments within the hospital. Participates as a professional member of the interdisciplinary team and community agencies. Provides education/ consultation to health care professionals and the community regarding the impact of psychosocial factors.Administratively, the Supervisor will assist the Manager of Behavioral Health Day Treatment as a clinical and administrative support to the Behavioral Health team. They are responsible for assisting the Manager in the screening and orienting/training of new personnel. They will monitor ongoing clinical delivery, adherence to documentation and other regulatory standards, and assist with ongoing education. The Supervisor works to support the Manager in the planning, organizing, developing, and implementing of clinical services to patients, ensuring that services are delivered in a patient-focused manner based upon the best practices of care for children and youth in a behavioral health setting. They assist with maintaining daily operations, including clinic schedules, interviews, and evaluations.
