Dayton Elementary School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Counselor to inspire and support students in grades K-5. We are looking for someone passionate about fostering student well-being, creating a supportive school environment, and making a difference in students' lives every day! Bilingual (Spanish) candidates are strongly encouraged to apply!

JOB SUMMARY:
Dayton School District is seeking a passionate and qualified School Counselor to join our dynamic team. Candidates must hold a valid school counselor license or be able to obtain it prior to the start date.
Opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities or athletics as a coach or advisor may also be available.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
*Education/Degree: BA, BS, MA, MAT in Counseling or related field
*School Counselor License required.
*Ability to establish positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
*Commitment to continuous learning and collaboration.
*Willingness to participate in extra-curricular activities (preferred).
*Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff, and parents.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Provide individual and group counseling to support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
*Develop and implement school-wide programs that promote a positive school climate.
*Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to address student needs.
*Assist students in developing coping skills and problem-solving strategies.
*Serve as a resource for students and families in crisis.
*Support TAG and 504 plans, crisis intervention, and behavior management.
*Participate in curriculum development and faculty committees.
