Dayton High School is seeking a Science teacher to work with students in grades 9–12. Oregon Teaching License required, science endorsement required, and preferred advanced science experience. Salary based on experience and placement on licensed salary schedule.

JOB SUMMARY:
Dayton School District is seeking a passionate and qualified Science Teacher to join our dynamic team. This role requires an Oregon Teaching License with an endorsement in Foundational Science or a secondary science endorsement in Biology, Chemistry, Integrated Science, or Physics.
Candidates must either hold the required license or be able to obtain it prior to the start date.
The Science Teacher will engage students in hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences that ignite curiosity and foster a lifelong love of science.
The specific courses taught will be determined based on the teacher’s area of expertise and the district’s needs.
Opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities or athletics as a coach or advisor may also be available.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Degree: BA,BS, MA, MAT
Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Willingness to work with extra-curricular activities w/ emphasis on high school and/or middle school coaching.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide Health and Physical Education instruction aligned with the Common Core State Standards.
Evaluate academic and social growth of students and maintain appropriate records.
Use data to plan for instruction.
Participate in curriculum and/or faculty committees as interested or required.
Work collaboratively with other staff members to support student learning
Community Description:
Dayton School District is a rural district located in western Oregon’s scenic Mid-Willamette Valley, between McMinnville and Newberg. The staff works with parents and other community members to provide a learning environment which leads to progress and success in all academic areas and encourages students to become well-rounded citizens. The student population of approximately 1,000 is served by a grade school, a grades 6 - 8 junior high, and a high school. The school district draws people into the community who want a strong educational system with a rural sense of caring and teamwork.
