The Dayton House is excited to welcome a new Bar Supervisor to our resort’s poolside bar, The Yella Umbrella. We are seeking an enthusiastic, service-oriented leader who is passionate about providing exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will be able to manage in a fast-paced environment, inspire a team, and maintain high standards of service. Responsibilities will also include overseeing daily bar operations, managing inventory, maintaining a high standard of food, health and safety, while creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. Responsibilities
- Hire, train, motivate and supervise bar staff to ensure efficient service and a positive work environment
- Maintain stock levels, order food and supplies from authorized vendors and manage inventory to ensure the bar operates efficiently
- Engage with guests, make recommendations, take orders as well as serve food and drinks
- Create and update unique cocktail and food menus, manage pricing, based on trends and customer preferences
- Knowledge of payroll management and preparation of staff schedules, allowing for appropriate service while controlling labor costs and overtime
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Resort Manager and Food and Beverage Director
Requirements
- Previous Bar or Restaurant supervising experience preferred
- Extensive knowledge of cocktails, wines and spirits
- Valid ServSafe and T.I.P.S certification
- Comply to all safety, sanitation, health procedures and alcohol licensing regulations
- Strong understanding of food preparation, drink mixing, garnishing, and service
- Proficiency with computer systems and bar equipment operation
- Great interpersonal skills to effectively interact with guests, staff, and management
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Capable of keeping the bar area organized, well-stocked, clean at all times and guest ready
- Skilled at managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina to stand long periods of time and lift up to 25lbs
- Willingness to work varying shifts which includes evenings, weekends and holidays
- Successful completion of a mandatory background check
