Job Summary
Sales and sales relationship lead for a large number of nationwide small to mid-sized existing accounts and new account acquisition via lead follow-up and industry research. Goal is to support and grow this account base via new products, existing product expansion or competitor conversion and graduate the account to full-time outside sales representative management. Understand market and product issues, identify needs of support and key buying factors to facilitate accelerated growth of the specific product lines. Develop support materials, either individual or through marketing department, for customers, sales team or internal users to enable sales growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead generation and follow-up
- Achieve sales quotas
- Close sales
- Manage and update customer database
- Identify sales opportunities via lost customer contact, product cross-selling, company capabilities and product offerings and understanding of customer needs
- Learn product and service features, benefits and application
- Relationship building and customer rapport
- Understanding of sales pipeline management
- Create sales reports and success measurements
- Interdepartmental collaboration to meet sales needs
- Other job responsibilities as required and as appropriate to the position
- Travel Requirements: minimal, centered around interplant visits, training and occasional customer field contact in conjunction with territory manager
- At times, weekend work may be required to accomplish all tasks on-time and/or to complete work-related priorities
Skills/Qualifications:
- Experience with CRM and other sales support systems – Salesforce is a plus
- Must have good interpersonal, communication, planning, project management, writing and client relationship management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
- Ability to collaborate well with all departments while accomplishing improvements and goals.
- High Proficiency with MS Office products
Experience/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree-preferably in business or engineering, or significant industry experience
- 3 years in sales or higher-level customer service
- Demonstrated experience in sales or business development within manufacturing
