Job Summary
The Nursing Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff activities to ensure effective patient care delivery.
- Monitor patient care processes and outcomes, implementing improvements as necessary.
- Provide guidance on acute pain management strategies and oversee the administration of medications.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient information, including DRG, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding.
- Collaborate with laboratory personnel to facilitate timely testing and results interpretation.
- Conduct training sessions for nursing staff on best practices, including phlebotomy techniques.
- Manage patient care related to cardiac catheterization procedures and other specialized treatments.
- Address issues related to workers' compensation law as they pertain to patient care and staff responsibilities.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages professional development and teamwork.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license with relevant supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of DRG, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding systems, and Athenahealth software.
- Experience in acute pain management and familiarity with cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy tasks as required by patient needs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Understanding of workers' compensation laws as they relate to nursing practice.
