Duties including, but not limited to: Travel to district facilities and conduct repairs and maintenance according to applicable building codes, state, local, and department requirements; Support the maintenance of District facilities to provide a clean, safe, accommodating, and aesthetically appealing learning environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive carpentry-related repair requests and coordinate and communicate work with Carpentry
- Foreman related to carpentry related repair requests.
- Prioritize and respond to emergency repairs as required..
- Review blueprints and building codes and specifications to determine work details and procedures.
- Evaluate the condition of plumbing in district facilities on a regular basis to identify needed repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Document maintenance and repairs according to department procedures, as well as research the cost of repair and projects in terms of labor and material.
- Recommend the purchase of supplies and equipment for plumbing maintenance and repairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S.
- Must maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license
- Must pass State and Federal background checks, per Dayton Public Schools policy
Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in carpentry repair and maintenance
- Skilled in the use of materials, equipment, tools and methods of the carpentry trade
- Knowledge of carpentry-related building codes and safety regulations
- Ability to read and write to complete forms and reports
- Sufficient strength, agility, dexterity, reflexes, vision and visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs
- Able to climb, lift, balance, walk and stoop while handling materials
- Ability to lift and maneuver materials up to 50 pounds regularly and in excess of 100 pounds periodically
- Work regularly involves standing for sustained periods
- Regular exposure to fluids and hazards associated with plumbing repairs
