What are the responsibilities and job description for the STEM High School Counselor position at Dayton Regional STEM School?
The Dayton Regional STEM School seeks a highly motivated individual to join the faculty and staff for the 2025-2026 school year to provide a comprehensive counseling program for the DRSS high school students; consult with teachers, parents and staff to enhance their effectiveness in helping students; and provide support to the administration and teachers in other activities as assigned. |
Academic – 40%
• Conduct Individual meetings with students and parents
• Prepare and deliver classroom lessons based on determined needs
• Participate in team meetings with teachers
Individual and Small Group Counseling – 30%
• Conduct individual counseling with students/parents
• Serve as consultant to teachers and other staff members
• Plan and lead small group counseling sessions
Administrative Support and Program Development – 15%
Testing and Analysis – 10%
• Support the administrators with organization and administration of state and other standardized testing
Professional/Program Development – 5%
• Pursue continuous growth through attendance at regional conferences; read professional journals; take post-graduate courses
• In conjunction with the middle and high school counselors and administration, plan and evaluate the school counseling program, grades K-12
