JOB SUMMARY: To provide educational services to students in a classroom setting. The teacher is responsible for fostering creativity, technical skill development, and student academic achievement, while maintaining a productive and positive classroom environment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree or higher Hold or be eligible for Oregon Teaching Certification with High School Level authorization and an endorsement in Art Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff, and parents Willingness to support extracurricular activities and contribute to school culture PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Training and experience in equity and Trauma-Informed Care Spanish speaker SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide Art instruction aligned with Oregon State Standards Encourage creative thinking and skill development in a variety of artistic media Evaluate academic and creative growth of students and maintain appropriate records Use data to inform and adapt instruction Participate in curriculum and/or faculty committees Collaborate with other staff members to support student learning Contribute to a vibrant school art culture through displays, events, or community connections COMMUNITY DESCRIPTION: Dayton School District is a rural district located in western Oregon’s scenic Mid-Willamette Valley, between McMinnville and Newberg.
