Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sonographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations in a variety of clinical settings, ensuring accurate diagnostic evaluations to assist in patient care. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, particularly within a Level II Trauma Center.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive ultrasound examinations on patients, including but not limited to abdominal, pelvic, and vascular studies.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret ultrasound results and provide diagnostic evaluations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of ultrasound procedures performed.
- Ensure the proper functioning of ultrasound equipment through regular maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and safety protocols during all procedures.
- Provide patient education regarding ultrasound procedures and assist in addressing any concerns or questions.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated on advancements in sonography practices.
Skills
- Proficient knowledge of radiology principles and practices related to sonography.
- Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols as they relate to imaging procedures.
- Strong diagnostic evaluation skills with attention to detail.
- In-depth understanding of human anatomy relevant to sonographic imaging.
- Experience working in a lab environment is preferred.
- Ability to perform cardiac catheterization procedures is a plus.
- Knowledge of telemetry monitoring systems is beneficial.
- Proficient understanding of medical terminology used in clinical settings.
