- Master's degree in library science, Information Studies, or related field
- One (1) year of teaching, academic librarianship, graduate internship, or relevant experience in a library
Key Responsibilities :
Maintain and develop the library's website and coordinate development of Libguides and other digital library resources.Provide both in-person and virtual reference service as assigned.Explore emerging technological trends in librarianship and make recommendations for adoption.Liaison with other college departments related to these duties including Information Technology and Marketing.Coordinate the library's social media presence.Provide both in-person and virtual Information Literacy instruction as assigned.Participate in library planning, policy development, and other department activities.Participate in appropriate college service activities.Engage in appropriate professional development and college service activities.Supervise staff as assigned.Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President or their designee.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :
Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal and customer service skills.Must have a general understanding of Library software programs.Must have the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.Ability to take initiative, be self-directed and have a commitment to innovation and creativity.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and be flexible to meet the demands of the College.Must have a general knowledge of all areas of librarianship.This position requires a criminal background screening.
