The Daytona Tortugas are currently seeking Seasonal Internships. The Tortugas take pride in being a leader of attendance and locally being a strong community stalwart. The Tortugas are located in Downtown Daytona Beach, FL and are the Class-A Affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. Ideal for students interested in pursuing a career in sport management, this internship provides hands-on exposure to various aspects of the business.

- Start Date: Late April/Early May
- End Date: Late August/Early September
- Compensation: Hourly per game day hours.
- Hours: 10-40 hours per week, depending on the game schedule
Segmentations within the overall internship include: Food & Beverage, Ticketing, Merchandise, Community Relations and Stadium & Grounds Management.
OVERALL JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Full exposure to all areas of the Minor League Baseball experience.
- During off-days, work closely with Tortugas front office on creating unique promotions, selling tickets, and preparing for Tortugas home games.
- During home games, work closely with department heads on learning and executing an unbelievable game-day experience.
- Opportunities exist to learn about community relations, ticket sales, marketing, stadium operations, food & beverage and hospitality.
- Maintain accurate and updated records in the team’s CRM System. Tortugas use SCORE CRM.
- Constantly learn about the baseball industry.
- Must be a hard worker who is willing to handle long hours and demanding job responsibilities.
- Strive to improve yourself and the Tortugas team each and every day.
- Professionally represent the Tortugas at all business and community functions.
- Deliver top service to each of the Daytona Tortugas ticket holders and fans every day.
- Have the opportunity to work at one of the most historic places in baseball that will give you chills every day… even in Florida!
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must currently be a college student (underclassmen, upperclassmen, and graduate students are all eligible)
- Must be available for at least 80% of the Tortugas' home games
- A desire to pursue a career in sport management
- Strong customer service skills
- Outgoing personality with a strong work ethic
- This position requires someone to work long hours at certain periods over the year which includes weekends, holidays. Must work well in a fast- paced environment.
- Must be able to lift 30lbs.
