Project Engineer
DBA Construction, Inc. is a successful heavy civil contractor with markets across Arizona who has a broad range of experience and expertise in heavy highway type construction, streets, concrete flatwork, concrete structures, earthwork, bridge, and wet utilities.
Description: Project Engineers support the field Superintendent and Project Manager. They assist with the planning, management, and administration of the project(s) to which they are assigned. The variety of duties requires that the Project Engineer be organized, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator.
Roles and Responsibilities are listed, but not limited to the following:
Job Duties:
- Reviews shop drawings, plans, specifications, material requirements and project data through the duration of the project to ensure quality and specification compliance.
- Performs various tasks to evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to accurately track project performance.
- Meets with project management and Superintendent to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources are readily available for production to continue schedule and within budget.
- Provides technical input for project work plan and scheduling. Identifying risk elements of production, materials, equipment, or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.
- Prepares and manages a three-week work plan. Notifies project management team of any significant schedule changes and develops solutions to mitigate delays and cost.
- Initiates and manages all Requests for Information (RFIs), as needed by project.
- Reviews quotes, subcontracts & Purchase Orders with project team for correct quantities & scope
- Coordinate subcontractors, services, and material delivery
- Write, manage and track RFI's.
- Maintain control of all project documentation
- Ability to effectively communicate and to self-manage responsibilities.
- Assist Project Managers and Estimators as required with various tasks.
Minimum requirements:
- Ability to read and understand concrete/civil plans.
- Ability to create and track job schedule and 3-week look ahead.
- Creating and working knowledge of RFI's
- Knowledge of Permits and applying for permitting.
- Experience with setting up, tracking, refreshing One Call
- Experience with submitting Traffic Control/right of way permits.
- Knowledge in sending, receiving, tracking Submittals.
