Drill Rig Service Mechanic
Shop based in the Somerset, PA region / shop and travel work required
Qualified candidate to reside in a daily commutable distance of the Somerset area with ability to travel within the United States and Canada.
The Drill Rig Service Mechanic candidate will be required to carry out field service and repair work at various rig locations along with assignments in the manufacturing and repair shops.
Must have knowledge of drill rig programming on computers / software updates and be proficient in troubleshooting hydraulics.
The Service Mechanic position requires traveling both nationally and internationally. Working hours and days will vary. You may be required to work some weekends. Having your own tools is not necessary but a plus.
Work Activities :
Repairing and Maintaining Mechanical Equipment – Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts and equipment.
Inspecting Equipment, Structures or Material – Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
Gathering Information – Observing, receiving, and obtaining information from all relevant sources.
Making Decisions and Problem Solving – Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Documenting / Recording Information – Entering, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic / magnetic form.
Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships – Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining the over time.
Requirements / Skills :
2 years of Drill Rig service experience; Shop and Field overhaul experience
Experience in troubleshooting and repair of various drilling equipment components
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently meeting
Current / Valid U.S. Passport required; Able to travel within the United States and abroad.
A valid driving license and clean driving record; MVR will be verified per company’s insurance
The ability to manually lift heavy objects (up to 75lbs) unassisted and work in all types of weather conditions and terrain
Training will be provided, but candidates should have experience in drill rig equipment
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
Compensation / Benefits Overview :
Hourly position based on experience; Must be able to work overtime and be on call 24 / 7 on a project
Working hours and days will vary. Some weekends will be required
Required work on project sites in the U.S. and at times abroad; All travel & overnight expenses paid
