What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welding Technician (FT) position at DBG Arkansas, LLC?
We are looking for Welding Technician to join our team!!! This position will work Monday - Thursday, 10 hours per day schedule, with additional overtime as necessary.
Our operations in Conway, Arkansas include metal stamping, forming, painting, and assembly. The facility utilizes stamping presses, brake presses, roll forms, lasers, shears, and a multi-stage paint process. A concept to a finished products company providing parts and sub-assemblies to customers. Approximately 100,000 square feet of floor space and 50 acres are utilized for fabrication operations. An additional 350,000 square feet is available for future business growth.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Assist all DBG in achieving optimum weld quality and process capability that will meet or exceed Customer expectations. Provide support and research for welding processes to optimize utilization of the equipment (weld cells), inventories (tips, wire, etc.) and labour. Use in depth analysis of new products to develop layouts, cost reductions, mechanization and automation. Maintain welding engineering data and technical specification as required.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and encourage safe work environment and good housekeeping.
- Evaluate proposed Engineering changes, advise appropriate Associates of possible weakness or welding problems.
- Provide support and research for new welding processes and products for Engineering.
- Assist in the installation, training and start up of new and existing projects, QA Training for Weld Quality and documentation, including 8D’s, PFMEA’s, control plans, etc.
- Provide/obtain training, coaching and motivation to weld personnel. Provide daily support for weld related technical questions.
- Originate and implement welding improvement and cost reduction to all weld processes, including machine and capability studies as required.
- Provide technical support/service (i.e. product and welding knowledge).
- Adhere to and develop as needed, ISO/QS 9000 procedures as it pertains to welding.
- Develop and champion initiatives that continually improve productivity, quality, and safety.
- Work as a Team Member in all situations.
- Other projects or reports as assigned.
- Responsible for Weld quality for all welded components and all welding processes. Will perform Weld destruct testing as required (macro-etch, bend tests, etc).
- A daily hands on approach will be required during resolution of recurring quality issues or technical failures.
- Control and maintain all welding documentation, inspection, rework procedures for welding manufacturing.
- Oversee all welding testing and inspection to ensure that proper evaluation and procedures are followed.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Technical education in welding or fabrication related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum 3 Years - Welding Manufacturing Environment with extensive experience in Welding improvements.
- Stamping or metal fabrication experience preferred.
- Computer skills - database (SAP Preferred), Windows - Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams.
- Robotic Welding - Motoman preferred.
