What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher and Polisher position at DBG Hospitality?
POSITION SUMMARY: Dishwasher and Polisher are essential part of the Dacha team who, along with other team members, contribute to the superb and unique customer experience. With consistency and speed, assist chefs and front of the house mangers in servicing customers by ensuring availability of clean plates, glasses and silverware.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONIBILTIES: (Other duties will be assigned as needed.) Must be willing and able to do the following:
- Ensure that every guest receives exceptional overall experience.
- Setup, breakdown and maintain a clean and stocked dish station and glass shelves by executing all opening, running and closing sidework. This includes, but is not limited to, setting up trash cans, cleaning the kitchen and restrooms, setting up and breaking down dish machine, etc.
- Clean and maintain all cookware, china, glassware, and silver by following proper procedures.
- Communicate with chef about any chemical or cleaning supplies needed.
- Help others with putting away deliveries in accordance with internal guidelines.
- Maintain supportive and cooperative relationship with the front of house (FOH) staff.
- Be example of teamwork with both FOH and BOH co-workers.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Accept direction and constructive criticism from superiors.
- Perform calmly and effectively in an extremely busy and stressful work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- At least 1 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to speak, read, and understand both oral and written instructions in English language.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Thorough knowledge of safe food handling practices and DOH standards.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to continuously stand and/or walk for 12 hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to frequently grasp and hold objects with hands
- Ability to handle knives, fryers, slicers, rational ovens, sous vide machines, and open flames.
