What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Maintenance position at DBI, Inc.?
We are looking for a reliable, skilled maintenance worker to perform essential upkeep tasks throughout our facility. In this position, you will be responsible for a wide variety of activities such as repairs and cleaning to ensure that our facilities are both tidy and functional. Being reliable and self-motivated with a keen eye for detail is essential in this job, as the ideal candidate will have significant work experience and solid technical knowledge. You should have the manual dexterity and physical stamina necessary for this work.
- Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Plans repair work using building blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, replacing light bulbs and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems and test the functionality of safety systems.
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
- Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair
- Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.
- Install necessary appliances and equipment as needed.
- Maintain grounds, including garden and yard upkeep, trimming, edging, mowing lawn, collecting trash, plowing etc.
- Perform necessary cleaning activities, such as dusting, mopping, trash removal , etc.
- Collaborate with a team of workers and other professionals during renovations and facility expansions.
- Report to CEO regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress.
- Performs other duties related as assigned
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior management employees
Ability to operate equipment (small farm tractor, lawn mowers, forklift)
Ability to use hand tools and power tools
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Related experience preferred
On-the-job training offered
Prolonged periods standing and walking
Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and/or crawl into awkward spaces
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
