What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Railway Weed Control Technician position at DBI SERVICES?
Job Summary
Responsible to drive a variety of trucks to perform the services in our General Services Business Unit, supporting Railway Operations. EXTENSIVE TRAVEL REQUIRED
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Locating water, fuel, etc. at all times.
- Loading Unloading of Truck with any equipment and or required chemicals, water, etc.
- Must drive truck from the computerized controls in the cab of the truck.
- Repair work including, but not limited to, repair of truck, equipment, other.
- Use all equipment safely.
- Drive standard shift vehicles.
- Conduct truck inspections (responsible for truck / spray system maintenance and repairs)
- Have all needed tools and equipment on board, including repair kits for on the road repairs
- Have all proper paperwork, MSDS sheets, labels, etc.
- Have all proper safety items, such as vests, hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, etc.
- Make sure all minor repairs are made
- Make sure all equipment is in working order.
- Make sure all work is conducted in compliance with strict safety guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Commercial Driver's License A with Tanker and Air Brake Endorsements
- Commercial Pesticide Applicator License preferred or must obtain within 90 days of hire
- Previous experience with weed, grass, and brush types preferred
- Some mechanical experience required, though license/certification is not
- Must be able to drive 4-speed trucks
- Must have valid driver's license
- Be able to drive manual transmission truck
- Be able to comply with company drug and alcohol policy
- be able to work overtime and varied hours
- Must be willing to work OT, weekends, or night work
- Must be willing to travel 4-6 weeks at a time in the Central United States
