What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flagger position at DBI SERVICES?
The traffic controller provides safe and effective movement of road users through or around temporary traffic control zones while reasonably protecting road users, other workers, and equipment.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Strict adherence to all safety policies, regulations and guidelines
- Set up a safe work zone with all necessary cones, barrels, barricades etc.
- Set up lane closures
- Ability to follow lane closure plans
- Use stop and slow paddles to control the flow of traffic
- Effective communication with road crew to conduct the flow of traffic
- Interact professionally with clients and the public
- Other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License is required. Class A or B CDL is preferred
- 2 years’ experience in landscaping, horticulture, pest control or vegetation management preferred
- Flagger certification preferred
- Ability to work in high-volume traffic areas
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Ability to stand / walk about for 8-12 hours at a time
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Regional travel on weekdays required
