What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guardrail Supervisor position at DBI SERVICES?
DBi Services, is seeking an individual with guardrail installation experience to manage projects in multiple locations throughout Virginia. This position will include both fieldwork and office work as needed, with some expectation of overnight travel.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years related experience working in the construction industry, including some guardrail experience, and be familiar with the materials, equipment, and procedures associated with this work. Applicant should be computer literate and possess prior management or supervisory experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee projects in various locations throughout Virginia
- A Guardrail Manager will have the responsibility of several crews.
- Recommends disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
- Assure foreman have necessary equipment and materials according to contract specifications.
- Make contact with customers as quality assurance follow-up.
- Documentation of customer contacts.
- Provide follow-up training with employees in the field.
- Assist in sales efforts by attending pre- & post-bid meetings, performing measurements, collecting data and developing positive relationships with existing customers
- Assure employees are complying with all Regulatory and Company Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Manage project schedules and work directly with crew foreman to keep projects on schedule and under budget.
- Spend time on job sites as needed to provide project oversight.
- Assist crews, manage equipment inspections, operate equipment, provide instruction, and generally fill in as needed in the field.
- Work directly with the company’s Project Manager, District Manager, Manager, Office Manager, and Shop Manager as liaison between the folks in the office and those in the field.
- Estimate and bid guardrail projects.
- Identify weaknesses and make recommendations to improve the company’s field operations.
- Identify operational needs, locate and recommend for hire field personnel.
- Identify equipment needs, recommend for purchase needed equipment, and oversee equipment maintenance and replacement as needed.
- Must have CDL or be able to obtain.
Full-time, salary commensurate with experience, includes benefit package and PTO.
