What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hi-Rail Operator position at DBI SERVICES?
Responsible to spray herbicide to various railroads, as well as maintain truck and equipment needs supporting Hi-Rail operations.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Operations
- Sprays complete weed, grass and brush killer to various railroads
- Performs daily routing and scheduling
- Performs daily tank mixing
- Conducts truck inspections (responsible for truck / spray system maintenance and repairs)
- Calibrates all spray equipment
- Performs daily / weekly record keeping
- Oversees all jobs / contracts sent to work on
- Ensures all work is conducted in compliance with strict safety guidelines
- Drives company vehicles
- Performs other duties as assigned
Service
- Handles all contact with customers
- Handles customer / public complaints
- Reports any potential liability immediately
Technical
- Possess a full understanding of weed, grass, and brush types
- Possess a complete understanding of herbicides used, what they control, and all safety requirements
- Possess a full understanding of application methods and equipment
- Possess a full understanding of calibration and spray patterns
