What are the responsibilities and job description for the Highway Maintenance Technician position at DBI SERVICES?
The position is responsible to perform general maintenance of the highway maintenance project assigned.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Repair work including, but not limited to, repair of fences, sign repair, litter debris removal, and other highway maintenance activities to include emergency response
- Cleans and grades ditches, drainage structures, culverts, highway road shoulders, slopes
- Performs repair and installation of guardrail and components
- Removes litter and debris
- Uses pressure washers and paint for graffiti removal
- Performs landscaping duties such as small machine mowing, edging, blowing
- Performs maintenance of traffic (MOT) operations and traffic control to establish safe zones
- Performs chemical weed control with the use of herbicides
- Performs storm drain and catch basin cleaning and maintenance
- Performs concrete sidewalk repair
- Operates power tools including but not limited to: chainsaws, brush cutters, backpack blowers, pole saws, circular saws, concrete saws, drills, weed eaters and edgers
- Performs work with the use of tools including but not limited to: shovels, rakes, bush axes, mattock, heavy duty pry bar, heavy duty bush brooms, sledgehammers, measuring wheel, and herbicide sprayers
- Drives company vehicles
- Uses all equipment safely
- Performs other duties as assigned
