What are the responsibilities and job description for the Highway Maintenance Technician position at DBI SERVICES?
JOB SUMMARY
The position is responsible to perform general maintenance of the highway maintenance project assigned
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Cleans and grades ditches, drainage structures, highway road shoulders, slopes
- Repair work including, but not limited to, repair of fences, sign repair, litter debris removal, and other highway maintenance activities to include emergency response
- Perform work under heavy traffic.
- Perform heavy manual labor.
- Use all equipment safely
- Drive standard shift vehicles
- Work outside in all types of weather conditions
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Must have transportation to and from Company office.
- Be highly safety oriented and have the ability to work safely
- Be able to operate light duty highway equipment, mowing equipment, small tools and power hand tools
- Be able to lift fifty to sixty pounds (50 - 60lbs.) on regular bases
- Be able to drive manual transmission truck
- Be able to comply with Company Drug and Alcohol Policy
- Be able to work overtime, nights and weekends.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies 24/7
- Highway maintenance or construction skills are preferred
- Valid Operators License - CDL perferred
- MOT certificate must be obtained
- Must pass VDOT Security Background
