What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laborer position at DBI SERVICES?
Responsible to spray herbicide to various railroads, as well as maintain truck and equipment needs supporting Hi-Rail operations.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Operations
- Sprays complete weed, grass and brush control to various commercial and industrial sites or railroad sites
- Prevents pesticide/herbicide runoff and drift prevention
- Operates a variety of tools and equipment such as spray truck, brush cutter, weed eater, etc.
- Performs physical labor such as cleaning up debris and litter as well as cutting down brush
- Performs actions necessary to prevent excessive foliage and destruction of right-of-way areas or equipment by unwanted foliage
- Properly mixes herbicide/pesticide using correct ratios
- Assists with all daily routing and scheduling
- Assists with all daily tank mixing
- Conducts truck inspections (responsible for truck / spray system maintenance and repairs)
- Ensures all needed tools and equipment are on board, including repair kits for on the road repairs
- Maintains all proper paperwork, MSDS sheets, labels, etc.
- Wears all proper safety items, such as vests, hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, etc.
- Ensures all minor repairs are made
- Ensures all equipment is in working order, such as water suck pumps, chemical injection equipment, computer, etc.
- Maintains company vehicle cleanliness and care
- Calibrates all spray equipment
- Ensures all work is conducted in compliance with strict safety guidelines
