What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Electrician position at DBI SERVICES?
BASIC PURPOSE: This position is responsible for the diagnosis, repair and installation of the electrical equipment and lighting systems throughout the assigned project.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Leads and supervises other qualified electrical technicians as directed by the Bridge Superintendent of Operations.
- Adhere to all OSHA and NECA safety regulations.
- Participates and attends all scheduled bridge operations training.
- Participates and attends all scheduled bridge openings.
- Conducts scheduled routine electrical systems preventive maintenance as outlined in the bridge operations manual.
- Reports and records all findings upon inspection and P.M. to Supervisor. Superintendent of bridge operations
- Troubleshoots and repairs/replaces contractors, relays, limit switches, momentary switches, Etc.
- Troubleshoots and repairs/replaces malfunctioning motors, motor controls and disconnects.
- Conduct scheduled routine testing and preventive maintenance of Stand-By Generators and related equipment, (electronic level meters, etc) and exhaust louvers.
- Troubleshoots and repairs/replaces Variable Frequency Drives, Battery bank controls and Drive controls.
- Conducts scheduled routine preventive maintenance of roadway lighting cabinets and controls.
- Repairs/replaces roadway pole lighting, Sign lighting and bridge lighting. Including Navigation, Aviation and warning gate lighting.
- Operates Bucket Truck and conduct work in snooper truck bucket.
- Maintains an active Journeymen license.
- Performs all other ancillary duties as required
REQUIREMENTS:
- HS Diploma required
- Valid Driver's License required
- Valid CDL License required
- Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or vocational training program
- Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience
- Must have extensive knowledge of Substation Equipment, (34.5KVA), Transformers, Switch Gear and 480V Motor Control Centers.
- Extensive background with Industrial Controls and Line Diagrams.
Certificates & Licenses (if applicable):
- Licensed journeymen electrician preferred
