What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic position at DBI SERVICES?
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance of vehicles and equipment under the direction of the Shop Manager, including mechanical build & repairs, and shop safety.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- · Preparing work plans after fully scoping out the issues
- · Running field and digital diagnostic tests on auto and diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions
- · Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts
- · Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines and other associated parts
- · Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
- · Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance
- · Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment and brake checks
- · Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles
- · Completing State and Federal Fleet inspections on all vehicle classes
- · Cut, Weld and fabricate custom parts
Required Skills/Qualifications
- · Valid CDL Inspection License
- · Welding
- · Team player
- · Ability to problem solve
- · Automotive/Truck Electrical experience
- · Ability to diagnose and repair regeneration systems
- · Have own tools
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
- · Small engine repair experience
- · Custom Truck build experience
- · Knowledge of hydraulic systems
- · Knowledge of water and herbicide pumps
Requirements
- · 21 years of age
- · Ability to lift fifty to sixty pounds (50 - 60 lbs.)
- · Ability to work, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
- · Comply with Company Drug and Alcohol Policy
