What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rest Area Facilities Attendant position at DBI SERVICES?
The Facility Attendant is responsible for general and routine cleaning and maintenance at the Echo Canyon Rest Area. Though job duties are primarily performed with minimal supervision, the Facility Attendant interacts with commuters, subcontractors, security personnel, and first-responders visiting the rest area.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Cleans restrooms, including toilets, sinks, floors, stall doors, divider doors, soap and hand sanitizer dispensers, hand dryers, paper goods dispensers, sanitary boxes, walls, and ceilings
- Restocks dispensers and sanitary goods
- Sweeps and mops foyer floor
- Cleans windows, sign/maps displays, and light fixtures
- Restocks brochures and maps
- Empties trash receptacles in restrooms, common areas, and along grounds
- Removes litter and debris from grounds
- Sweeps, blows off, or hoses down walkways, picnic areas, and parking lot areas
- Cleans picnic tables
- Maintains grounds by raking leaves, mulching, maintaining shrubs, and removing weeds from flower beds
- Applies pest sites with designated pesticides
- Maintains the inventory supplies, equipment, and small tools
- Ensures stock room and employee break area are neat and orderly
- Uses slip and fall markers where appropriate
- Provides direction to subcontractors as necessary
- Attends rest area inspections
- Attends safety meetings and training sessions
- Completes required paperwork, report and checklists each shift
- Reports accidents, incidents of theft or vandalism to supervisor and law enforcement
- Be periodically visible to the public to curb vandalism, theft, and accidents.
- Promotes a positive work environment by treating staff and visitors with courtesy and respect
- Ensures that Department of Transportation and contract specifications of the roadside facility are being met
- Uses all equipment and cleaning supplies safely
- Performs other duties as assigned
