What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skilled Laborer (Night Shift) position at DBI SERVICES?
Summary
The Skilled Laborer is responsible for the maintenance on different roadways that are being maintained. Maintains highways in a safe condition by preforming the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.
- Concrete Work (i.e. CTB, Sound walls, Traffic islands, Curbs & Gutter, Rip Rap, Head walls, Columns, sidewalks, Foundations, build forms, tie steel etc.)
- Operate light and heavy equipment such as Skid Steer loader, Mini Excavator, Tractor with Bat Wing mower, Vacuum Truck or Vacuum trailer.
- Drainage repair and maintenance to include cleaning of manholes, roadway and ROW inlets, slotted drains, CTB slotted inlets and Bridge inlets, down spouts, raceways and piping.
- Drives truck, pull trailer to transport crew, materials and equipment to and from job site.
- Patch potholes in pavement.
- Guard Rail, TL-3, Attenuator and Pedestrian Handrail repair.
- Support de-icing and emergency operations during winter weather events.
- Removal of debris, litter, dead animals in and around roadway.
- Landscaping to include mowing, weed eating, tree and brush trimming or removal.
- Completes daily paperwork electronically (i.e. Daily Time sheet, FLSA, SOC, pre-trip and post trip inspections).
- Respond to emergency call out, within 20 after being notified.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to work outside in all-weather conditions and temperature. Must have and maintain a Texas driver’s license. Must be able to move 60 pounds. Able to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Must have a High School diploma or GED, Two years’ experience in Highway construction or Maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications MOT training / certification, Class A CDL. Experience operating Mini Excavator, Skid Steer loader, Telehandler (Sky-Track), Vacuum Truck or Trailer, Welding experience.
