What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spray Technician position at DBI SERVICES?
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible to visit various sites to maintain waterways.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Has a keen eye to properly identify aquatic vegetation along the shoreline, floating on the surface and submersed in a body of water or waterway system.
- Licensed or can obtain that license for aquatic pesticide applicator and Natural areas Weed management
- Using labels and supplied information can formulate correct material needs and their amounts for the effective treatment of aquatic vegetation on residential, commercial, and industrial bodies of water.
- Reads and follows labels of all material for the purposes of mixing and applying material in aquatic weed management
- Takes pride in keeping field equipment in working order for completing daily work schedule.
- Knows the importance of properly calibrated spray equipment
- Knows the methods used for applying material to targeted of unwanted vegetation
- Knows the importance of daily treatment vehicle inspections and routine scheduled preventive maintenance items are critical for keeping our team working safely with minimum down time.
- Likes the perk of a company truck to drive to work and home each day. Has pride in that truck and keeps it clean, organized and maintained.
- Knows the importance of daily truck inspections and routine scheduled preventive maintenance items are critical for keeping our team working safely with minimum down time.
- Brings a beginner’s knowledge of mechanical motors and looks to expand that knowledge. If you don’t have this knowledge, have the desire to learn this. This knowledge is critical to being able to complete on the road repairs if able.
- Takes ownership of their route, daily schedule and completion of all necessary paperwork and documentation
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 18 years of age or older
- Commercial Pesticide Applicators License for Vegetation Management is preferred
- Natural Areas Weed Management experience
- A current and valid Driver’s License
- Pass pre-employment testing protocols
