Job Description:
Shipping and Shop Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring smooth shipping operations and supporting the shop with tasks like wheel assembly, warehouse assistance, and inventory management. This is a hands-on position that requires a blend of organizational skills, attention to detail, and mechanical aptitude. It’s a bonus if you love superduty truck conversions.
Your primary goal is to ensure timely, accurate, and secure shipping while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized shop environment. You will be a critical link between shipping, warehouse operations, and shop support activities, helping maintain efficiency in both areas.
Responsibilities:Shipping Duties:
- Process outgoing and incoming shipments with accuracy and efficiency.
- Schedule pickups, print labels, and prepare reports to track order trends.
- Package items ranging from small bolts to large crated parts for national and international shipments, adhering to shipping standards.
- Operate forklifts to load, unload, and organize shipments.
- Weigh and label packages to ensure accurate shipping information.
- Maintain accurate shipping data in software systems.
- Handle customer complaints related to shipping and resolve issues effectively.
Shop Support Duties:
- Assemble wheels and assist with related truck conversion tasks.
- Organize and maintain the parts room, ensuring items are properly cataloged and accessible.
- Assist in the organization of the shipping yard and warehouse.
- Perform basic shop tasks such as sorting parts, maintaining shop cleanliness, and supporting technicians as needed.
- Operate tools and equipment required for assembly and shop maintenance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in shipping, logistics, or a warehouse/shop environment preferred.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 70 lbs.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Forklift operation experience preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to support shop tasks.
- Excellent communication and multitasking abilities.
