Job Title: OBD Performance Tuning Engineer
Location: Columbus, IN
We are looking for analytically oriented engineers to work on performance tuning of diesel engine/aftertreatment diagnostics for state-of-the-art technology.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Lead current product improvement investigations and projects that involve, aftertreatment performance, emissions, on-board diagnostics (OBD), calibration, and/or control system software changes along with hardware interaction
Use Matlab & Simulink, Simulation and Data Analysis for diagnostic and feature calibration tuning
Features will be tuned to meet the ACI (Aftertreatment Component Integration) team Feature Review requirements
Own FIRG (Failure Incident Reporting Group) issues related to owned diagnostics
Follow the 7-Step problem solving process.
Identify the Problem, Identify and Rank Possible Causes, Take Short-Term Action, Determine Failure Cause(s), Select and Verify the Solution, Implement Permanent Solution, and Monitor, Prevent Recurrence
Utilizing Matlab & Simulink to understand and tune diagnostic and features for the Aftertreatment Sensors and Actuators
Understand Simulink controls logic
In depth understanding on OBD 3-step review progress and adhere to that process
Calibration tuning experience for aftertreatment controls and drive each calibration through the maturity process
Truck testing with Engineering Calibration tool logging and data analysis
Data analysis of truck data (Plots, presentation for design review)
Present the review material in the respective forums in a logical way
Data analysis of aftertreatment performance
Create Software Change Requests for diagnostics if needed
Example: New architecture causing new inputs to diagnostic thus requiring a software change
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
College/University degree required
At least 5 years’ relevant work history
Strong technical, analytical, critic
