Position Description:
The Receptionist & Billing Assistant is a vital piece in the work we do and clients we serve. The employee will be at the reception desk to serve as the first line of representing the clinic and will report to the Chief Operations Officer.
Additionally, responsible for all aspects of the reimbursement of treatment costs via insurance and managed care companies. This position also provides appropriate client information to 3rd party payers regarding medical/clinical necessity of treatment. This portion of the duties reports to the UM & Billing Director and COO.
Work hours are Monday - Thursday, 9am-6:15pm and Friday 9am - 5pm.
Essential Duties and Requirements:
- Answer all incoming calls and greet clients/guests with a positive and upbeat attitude.
- Complete intake sheet thoroughly, update the Google doc and communicate with potential/current clients as needed.
- Check clients in upon arrival and out upon departure.
- Collect required paperwork, questionnaires and payments from clients.
- Act as a liaison with insurance and managed care companies for payment of treatment costs.
- Provide timely billing and rebilled claims on all clients to insurance companies.
- Support with all administrative tasks, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, growing clinic as a team player supporting therapists and administration. Professional and organizational abilities must be impeccable. Proficient with technology such as a computer and scanner. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively in writing and verbally.
Education/Experience and Other Requirements
- High school degree or higher
- Pass a background check
- Worked as a medical or behavioral health biller for a minimum of six months
