DC Department of Human Resources
Washington, DC Full Time
POSTED ON 3/8/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 4/6/2025

Are you someone who enjoys diving into data, analyzing policies, and ensuring things are done right? Do you thrive in a collaborative, dynamic environment where teamwork and problem-solving are at the core of your daily work? If so, the D.C. Department of Human Resources (DCHR) is looking for a motivated self-starter to join our team as a Compliance Analyst.

About Us

DCHR plays a crucial role in managing and supporting the workforce that keeps Washington D.C. running efficiently. Our Policy and Compliance Administration ensures that personnel policies are fair, transparent, and aligned with the highest standards of accountability. Within this division, the compliance team takes the lead in ensuring District government agencies are adhering to local and federal regulations, identifying areas for improvement, and safeguarding the integrity of HR practices. We foster a collegiate-like environment where professionals across disciplines work together, exchange ideas, and tackle challenges as a team.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Compliance Analyst, you will lead and conduct audits, analyze data, and ensure adherence to District and federal regulations related to personnel policies. Your work will involve developing audit plans, applying analytical methods to assess compliance, and presenting your findings in clear, concise, data-driven reports. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, using your investigative skills to spot inconsistencies and make recommendations that enhance efficiency and accountability. Whether leading data collection efforts, reviewing HR practices, or conducting an investigative analysis, you will be an essential part of the team that ensures the District's workforce meets the highest standards.

What We're Looking for in an Ideal Candidate

We need someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive who can take a deep dive into policies, interpret data, and make informed recommendations. Strong communication skills are a must, as you will be translating complex data into clear reports and collaborating with people inside and outside of DCHR. We are looking for a team player who enjoys working in a collegiate atmosphere where problem-solving is a shared effort, and innovative ideas are welcomed. You should be comfortable with data analytics tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and HR information systems, and you should have a strong understanding of auditing principles, knowledge of District and federal regulations, and investigative processes.

Why You Should Work for Us

This is the perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys both independent analysis and group problem-solving. You’ll have the autonomy to lead audits and investigations, but you’ll also be encouraged to connect, collaborate, and innovate with a team that thrives on shared success. You will have direct access to professional development opportunities, and a workplace culture that values both hard work and camaraderie. Beyond career development, the District also offers competitive salaries, excellent benefits such as paid family leave, work-life balance, and a chance to make an impact by ensuring the integrity of the D.C. government workforce.
