Job Summary
This position is located in the Office of the Administrator for the Parking Enforcement Management Administration within the Department of Public Works. The incumbent supports the Administration’s various programs by carrying out tasks that facilitate computer network and system designs and ensure that information systems applications and associated equipment operate efficiently.
Duties And Responsibilities
Incumbent performs tasks that facilitate network and system designs, ensuring the effective implementation of functional Parking Enforcement and Information Systems (IS) applications. Carries out responsibilities that maintain information systems reliability and accessibility and safeguard against unauthorized access to automated information systems, networks, and data. Executes work functions which support current or projected IS programs for effectiveness in achieving planned goals and objectives for the Organization. Ensures the availability of large-scale computer system(s), including various mobile devices, mobile digital, single, and multi-connected processors, and printers.
Participates in the execution of Parking Enforcement systems and information systems of limited scope and mission impact. Reviews and interprets new and established directives, instructions, and regulations for potential impact on parking enforcement and information systems objectives, operating policies, work operation, and progress.
Assures program goals, objectives, and operations are realistic. Determines the need for new or revised internal instruction, operating policies, procedures, guidelines, etc., concerning information systems and services. Makes recommendations and assists in the preparation of new or revised instructions.
Qualifications And Education
Candidates must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the CS-06 grade level in the District of Columbia government service. Specialized experience is experienced in or directly related to the position's line of work and has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position's duties successfully.
Licenses and Certifications
Applicant must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
Work Environment
Work is generally performed in an office setting. However, the incumbent is regularly required to test equipment outside and observe the users in the performance of their work.

Tour of Duty: The incumbent works on rotating shifts and may be required to work weekends and observed holidays.

These duties may be performed when the government is closed or when most employees are dismissed early. Critical District government operations cannot be suspended or interrupted during emergencies.
