Job Summary
The incumbent of this position serves as Community Response Team (CRT) Director, for the Department of Behavioral Health (DBH), Clinical Services Administration. The CRT is the DBH multidisciplinary approach to improve behavioral health outcomes in the District with a focus on proactive service offerings and tailored responses to behavioral health support needs. The incumbent is responsible for exercising managerial leadership in the planning, development, and implementation of a comprehensive program. Provides clinical quality assurance through documentation review and ongoing training and education of staff. Managers and coordinates the effective delivery of services that promotes the overall mission and values of DBH. Identifies and develops long and short range plans and ensures the development and implementation of new directions. Establishes performance standards, evaluates work performance and provides advice and counsel to assigned staff on work performance.
This position IS NOT in a collective bargaining unit.

Tour of Duty: The tour of duty is composed of both core hours and flexible hours - The program operates 24 hours a day.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENT: As a basic requirement, all applicants must have successfully completed a four (4) year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a Bachelors or higher degree which involved major study in an academic field related to health or allied sciences. This position requires one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal grade level progression for the position to be filled. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position to be filled and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
LICENSURE
This position requires licensure as a Qualified Practitioner includes Psychiatrist, Psychologist, LICSW, LPC or RN through the DC Department of Health.
EDUCATION
Bachelors or higher degree which involved major study in an academic field related to health or allied sciences
Work Experience
Experience in exercising managerial leadership with planning, developing, and implementing comprehensive Community Response Team (CRT) programs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent may be required to assist in community based engagements as needed which may include working on the streets (in extreme temperatures), in consumer residences, community-based facilities or specialized service centers throughout the District of Columbia metropolitan area. A high degree of hazard may be present in working with emotionally disturbed consumers.
Position Designation: This position is deemed as “Protection Sensitive” pursuant to Section 410 of Chapter 4 of the D.C. Personnel Regulations, in addition to the general suitability screening, individuals applying for or occupying protection sensitive positions are subject to the following checks and tests:
RESIDENCY PREFERENCE
A person applying for a position in the Career Service, Educational Service, Management Supervisory Service, a line attorney position in the Legal Service (series 905), or an attorney position in the Excepted Service (series 905) who is a bona fide District resident AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION for the position may be awarded a 10-point residency preference over non-District applicants, unless the person declines the preference points.
