The Office Of Contracting & Procurement Supports The District With Acquisition Support Services And May Support Positions In The Following Functions
The Procurement Training Institute (PTI) facilitates general procurement education for procurement professionals and program agency staff through the Procurement Training Institute. The Institute develops and delivers the curriculum for the District Procurement Certification Program (DPCP) as required by the Procurement Practices Reform Act of 2010 (PPRA).
Duties And Responsibilities
Serves as the lead training instructor for OCP with responsibility for delivering and developing most courses offered by the agency and is responsible for pre-instructional and instructional actions such as overall maintenance and improvement of assigned courses.
Reports to the supervisor periodically on team and individual work accomplishments, problems, progress in mastering tasks and work processes, and individual and team training needs.
Estimates and reports on team progress in meeting established milestones and deadlines for completion of assignments, projects and tasks, and ensure that all team members are aware of and participate in planning for the achievement of team goals and objectives.
Applies a variety of instructional techniques, including lectures, on-line sessions, programmed instruction, self-paced instruction and multimedia programs and serves as a principal source of technical information on which course development actions are based. Develops in-person and online training programs with responsibility for assisting in the creation and selection of course content and materials for training programs.
Aligns curriculum with the organization’s goals, develops, implements and updates training programs, to ensure they are relevant, monitors curricula, delivery methods and skills of instructors, and aids in the evaluation of the effectiveness of training offered. Conducts operational assessments and determines which areas are training correctable; works with subject matter experts to develop course and learning points; develops appropriate assessments designs and individual improvement programs, coaches and/or development sessions for training participants.
Qualifications And Education
Education: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (CS-13) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

The majority of the work is performed in either an office or classroom setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, cooled and ventilated.
