Overview
DC Equipment is looking for a candidate to join our team that dedicates itself to designing safer and more sanitary equipment for the poultry industry. Specializing in stainless-steel custom fabrication, DC Equipment designs and manufactures conveyor systems for poultry plants country wide. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Designer/Drafter for our Engineering office located in Birmingham, AL. Responsibilities include generating drawings and models for manufacturing, customer approvals and modified custom orders. Candidates must be proficient in SolidWorks and experience with AutoCad is a plus.
Duties
- Coordinating with sales to collect all necessary information
- Managing all open projects, and ensuring they are completed on time
- Designing of all CAD required equipment based on the customers specifications, and OSHA regulations
- Keeping an up-to-date master drawing to help prevent any conflicts that may occur during installation or operation
- Sizing and spec’ing drive and belting information
- Sending design approvals to the customer and making any revisions that may be requested
- Address any confusion and/or problem solve conflicts that occur during fabrication or installation
- Complete other projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher in construction or business-related field preferred
- One or more years of experience in Drafting/Design (Mechanical or Civil)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to work independently and be part of a team
- Ability to read and understand customer prints, drawings, and models
- Be self-directed and capable of prioritizing opportunities and performing multiple tasks
- Attention to detail and accuracy required
- Must be able to adhere to confidentiality
