The Area Director of Revenue Strategy is responsible for identifying and maximizing all potential revenue opportunities across assigned hotels. This position provides strategic direction and support to property teams to drive revenue performance (RevPAR and RevPAR Index), profitability, and market share growth. The role involves leadership in revenue strategy processes including inventory management, pricing, demand forecasting, and revenue projections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maximize total revenue and market share by developing effective pricing strategies, sales mix, and optimizing channel visibility.
- Evaluate and adjust rate strategies regularly to ensure consistent growth in RevPAR Index (RPI).
- Analyze data to interpret market trends, demand shifts, and optimal sales mix.
- Lead regular virtual revenue strategy meetings with hotel teams.
- Support the preparation of monthly revenue forecasts.
- Monitor competitor pricing across all channels and products to maintain competitive positioning.
- Manage OTA promotions to ensure effective use and alignment with overall strategy.
- Ensure accuracy and optimal functionality of the Revenue Management System (RMS).
- Lead the group rate pricing strategy up to 24 months in advance.
- Collaborate closely with group housing teams to enforce group standards and monitor cutoff dates.
- Maintain a strong understanding of local market dynamics and key demand drivers.
- Assist in the annual RFP and budgeting processes as needed.
- Contribute to reporting and communication with ownership as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years in a multi-property revenue management role.
- Experience across multiple hotel brands required.
- IHG brand experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and technical skill set.
- Experience working in a Top 25 metropolitan statistical area (MSA) preferred.
- Proficient in hotel systems including reservations, revenue management, front office, sales & catering systems, as well as industry tools such as STR, TravelClick, Knowland, Kalibri, etc.
- Solid understanding of digital marketing strategies as they relate to revenue generation.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with proactive sales teams.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- Travel may be required as needed.
