What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator, Youth Programs position at DC United?
JOB SUMMARY
The Coordinator, Youth Programs will develop and implement youth soccer camps and clinics for D.C. United. They will be responsible for securing fields, managing coaching staff, athletic training staff, equipment, schedules, registration, budget, and positive PR for the club. The purpose of these programs is to further the reach of the club into the D.C.MarylandVirginia market in both fan engagement and youth participation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the fulfillment of all D.C. United camps and clinics, to include, but not limited to:
- Book field space in strategic locations/communities
- Organize and assist in the running of camps/clinics/tryouts throughout the year
- Ensure execution of outlined camp and training program schedules
- Kit and equipment ordering and management
- Develop, implement, and manage the camp registration process
- Assist in the recruitment of all part-time coaching staff. This includes actively assessing non-DC United staff in the community and effectively recruiting qualified staff to our programs
- Provide exceptional customer service to camp and training program clients
- Assist in creating a marketing plan for all programs in collaboration with the Director and D.C. United marketing team
- Represent D.C. United with top-class appearance and professionalism
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience planning/executing large-scale sporting events
- Ability to plan sessions in coordination with coaching staff
- Knowledge of MLS/DMV soccer landscape preferred
- Exceptional organization, communication, presentation, and management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends & holidays
- The selected candidate must pass a background check.
