What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Intern position at DC United?
The D.C. United Marketing team is looking for talented, hardworking undergraduate and/or graduate students aspiring to enter the professional sports industry to join us as interns for the summer semester of the 2025 season. D.C. United Marketing Interns will be introduced to the world of marketing with the goal of launching your career within the marketing industry while fulfilling the internship requisite.
As a Marketing Intern, you will establish a level of understanding of the different facets of marketing including event promotion, brand awareness and fan engagement, be included in an intern cohort that will work on interdepartmental projects and gain real-life marketing experience.
This internship will be completed under a hybrid schedule and be aligned with the DCU Full Time Staffing schedule. Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays will be in-person at the D.C. United Offices located at Audi field. The remaining days of the week, excluding any game days or events, will be virtual. The ability to work matches on site is required to be considered for this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities?(including but not limited to the following):

Attend onboarding/offboarding sessions

Provide matchday and fan experience support

Pursue continued career growth

Provide Administrative support such as department emails and coordinating internal meetings

Assist Marketing Managers and Coordinators with the creation of unique promotional campaigns

Willingness to work events both on and offsite

Represent D.C. United in a positive image

Participate in D.C. United Internship Cohort

Other duties as assigned

Maximum of twenty (20) office hours per week from May August 2025

Must be an active college or graduate student and have the ability to receive academic credit for the internship

Proficient in Spanish is a plus, but not required

This internship is unpaid, so any applicants must be able to receive academic credit.
