We are looking for a candidate with a background in landscaping and horticulture or a genuine passion for the field, combined with experience in sales and upselling. This full-time position in Kansas City, Missouri, located at our KAT Wholesale site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process future customer orders – Research and acquire material, give advice on plants, and offer substitutions if needed.
  • Develop and grow the customer relationship – Proactively know and understand our customer needs.
  • Be an expert resource for customers – Demonstrate knowledge of the landscape/nursery industry.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Promote company as the leader in quality, service, and availability
  • Serve as point of contact for assigned customer accounts
  • Familiarity with on-hand and future inventory.
  • Facilitate delivery/pick-up
  • Inspection of material and orders
  • Promote company product lines and services
  • Provide sales forecast through management of future orders and customer quotes

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote and manage a safe work environment while following direction from the safety committee.
  • Promote and foster company's core values.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of landscaping and horticulture, including plant species and soil types.
  • Sales Acumen: Proven ability to upsell and cross-sell while addressing customer needs.
  • Communication and Organizational Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, coupled with effective management of accounts and orders.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Skilled at building lasting customer relationships through exceptional service.
  • Team Player: Collaborative spirit to work towards company goals.
  • Eagerness to Learn: Commitment to continuous industry knowledge and skill development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required: 1 years in plant industry or related fields, landscaping, garden centers, and/or nurseries
  • Required: Experience in customer service and sales
  • Required: High School diploma or equivalent
