• This is a full-time role working at KAT Wholesale in Olathe, Kansas.
• Salary Range: $50,000k$63,000k dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and hold accountable the assigned department ensuring the successful execution of operational plans and goals.
• Facilities Maintenance?: Oversee the upkeep of the distribution yard, proactively identifying and addressing maintenance needs. Regularly inspect the facility for maintenance, housekeeping needs, or supplies and collaborate with the Site Manager to get all needs addressed in a timely manner.

• Equipment /Asset Inspections?: Maintain an accurate inventory through regular inspections of both green goods and hard goods, ensuring product integrity and the proper functioning of equipment.
• Safety Inspections: Uphold a safe work environment by enforcing adherence to established safety protocols. Conduct frequent yard inspections to identify and rectify potential hazards, hold daily briefings and monthly meetings, and ensure all team members are trained and compliant with safety standards.

Essential Job Duties:

• Actively engage with the team in the yard, providing on-the-spot support and problem-solving assistance to ensure smooth operations and high morale.

• Clearly communicate performance expectations and provide ongoing guidance to ensure successful achievement of operational plans and sales targets
• Assign daily and weekly tasks to team members, prioritizing operational and sales needs to maximize labor efficiency and maintain clear communication
• Hold daily briefings and monthly meetings with the team to achieve operational excellence and monitor performance to deliver operational and sales results
• Champion a culture of safety by actively promoting safe work practices, promptly addressing hazards, and consistently reinforcing safety protocols among all team members
• Ensure that all team members are properly trained in safety procedures, equipment operation, and inventory management
• Monitor daily sales trends, seasonal variations, and operational efficiency to proactively manage labor allocation, including adjusting staff levels as needed
• Maintain a visible presence in the yard to proactively interact with customers, understand their needs, and address any concerns, ensuring a positive and efficient customer experience
• Ensure the yard is organized and presentable to customers, creating a positive customer experience
• Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to product availability, order status, or delivery discrepancies efficiently
• Maintain product integrity by regularly inspecting both green goods and hard goods to ensure they meet quality standards before being delivered to customers
• Collaborate with the sales account team and transportation team to optimize execution of deliveries
• Regularly inspect the facility for maintenance, housekeeping needs, or supplies and work with the Site Manager to get all needs addressed in a timely manner
• Execute and enforce Company’s procedures related to inventory control, including receiving, pulling, shrink tracking, spot checks, cycle counts, and several full-cycle inventory counts each year
• Consistently report to the Site Manager on key performance indicators, trends in sales and operations, team effectiveness, opportunities for improvement, and potential growth opportunities

Minimum Qualifications:

• Required: Industry product knowledge, including both green good and hard good products
• Required: 3 years in plant industry or related fields, landscaping, garden centers, and/or nurseries

• Required: 3 years of experience in team management, preferable in a manual labor environment
• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Required: Weekend hours during peak seasons
• Highly Preferred: Certified Applicator License (Hold a current certification as a herbicide applicator or be willing to get certified)
• Highly Preferred: Bilingual (English & Spanish)
