This is a part-time role working onsite at Colonial Gardens in Blue Springs.
Hourly Rate: $16.00-$18.00 an hour variable compensation based on sales.
About Us: Colonial Gardens, located in Blue Springs, MO, was added to our brand family in 2016. Founded in 1969, renovations began in 2017 to create an agritourism destination. It is the garden center, reimagined! We offer a greenhouse, nursery, café and coffee shop, event space, and farmers market. Its where plants, food and farms connect. Educational classes promoting local agriculture and sustainability as well as private events are also offered.
Colonial Farms is an immersive farm experience with livestock, orchard, u-pick berries, vegetable production & festivals. From our soil to your home, everything is connected at our Kansas City farm, Colonial Farms. Eggs for the market and café. Porch-worthy pumpkins. And education that ensures the seeds you plant today blossom for the next generation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Task Completion: Proactively manage relationships with existing customers while prospecting for new business opportunities and maintaining accurate documentation and follow up for event bookings.
- Individual Productivity: Effectively multitask and utilize CRM tools to track leads, while representing the brand at offsite networking events to enhance visibility.
- Work Quality: Collaborate with the Events Coordinator to develop high-quality event packages and ensure professionalism in sales presentations and contract negotiations.
- Work Safely: Travel responsibly to engage with customers and vendors, all while providing exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance with safety standards at events.
Essential Job Duties:
- Actively seek out and identify potential clients using various strategies, including networking, market research, and leveraging industry contacts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers through regular communication and personalized service to ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintain a results-driven mindset by diligently tracking progress, following up on leads, and managing multiple projects concurrently without sacrificing quality
- Work alongside our Events Coordinator to grow and develop event packages, processes, and execution
- Travel to networking opportunities to sell events and develop relationships with our customers and vendors
- Learn and document everything in our CRM HubSpot to target potential opportunities and to track your activity in the sales process through event execution
- Present professional sales presentations to our customers providing the solutions and products we offer to meet their need
- Represent the brand at offsite networking events, tradeshows, and educational events.
- Process contracts and invoices
- Coordinate and execute on established marketing strategies and promotions to entice new customers
- Collaborate with our Food and Beverage team on catering needs
- Maintain BEO (banquet event order) paperwork for event booking
- Serve as primary point of contact for private event bookings
- Aid in the organization and execution of colonial garden events
- Provide customer service and hospitality services to our customers
- Foster and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients, vendors, and colleagues

Minimum Qualifications:
- Required: 1 years of relevant experience in outside sales and/or the hospitality or events sector
- Required: Willing and able to travel for networking events, tradeshows, and educational opportunities
- Required: Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Preferred: Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems, specifically Counter Point and Toast
