- This is a full-time role working at KAT Wholesale in Blue Springs, Missouri.
- Hourly Range: $20.00-$24.00 dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Crew Workflow?: Coordinate daily yard sales crew activities, adjusting assignments to optimize order fulfillment and customer service.
- Crew Productivity:? Support and enhance crew productivity by monitoring progress, motivating team performance, and prioritizing customer satisfaction for consistently smooth operations.
- Equipment/Asset Maintenance?: Maintain proper use and maintenance of yard equipment and assets, assisting with compliance to all operational and upkeep guidelines.
- Facility Maintenance?: Support facility maintenance efforts by assisting in maintaining a clean, organized, and functional yard and facility.
- Safe Work Area: Champion safety best practices by enforcing safety procedures and setting a personal example, ensuring a safe working environment.
Essential Job Duties:
- Adjust daily tasks to yard sales crew members based on order volume, customer requirements, and operational needs
- Monitor crew progress throughout the day, providing guidance and support to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
- Conduct daily huddles to communicate daily goals and safety reminders
- Proactively initiate conversations with customers entering the yard, offering assistance, and asking about their specific product needs
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on suitable green goods (plants, shrubs, trees) and hard goods (mulch, stone, pavers) based on customer needs and project specifics
- Process now orders of new daily transactions
- Walk customers through the yard, showcasing relevant products and explaining their features, benefits, and applications
- Answer customer questions regarding pricing, availability, and product specifications
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of all green goods and hard goods, including their features, benefits, uses, and care requirements
- Merchandise and showcase products in the yard with proper labeling and presentation to enhance sales and customer engagement
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and pallet jacks safely and efficiently to move and load materials
- Assist customer with ensuring proper weight distribution and load security
- Double-check orders to verify accuracy and completeness before loading
- Be aware of surroundings and potential hazards, such as uneven terrain, moving equipment, and overhead obstacles
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Required: 2 years in plant industry or related fields, landscaping, garden centers, and/or nurseries
- Required: 2 years working in a customer service and/or sales environment
- Required: Physical ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.) and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish and English
